Voters go to the polls on Tuesday for the Georgia Senate run-off, Polls open at 7 a.m.
Director Jon Ossoff tries to fill the seat occupied by David Purdue until Sunday when his term expires. David Purdue defeated Usov in the general election by more than 88,000 votes but failed to avoid a second round. David Purdue received 49.7 percent of the vote, compared to 47.9 percent for Ossoff.
David Purdue, a 71-year-old businessman, was a political novice before his election in 2015. Jon Ossoff, 33, tried to be elected to the House of Representatives in 2017, but failed.
Loeffler received the most votes from the Republican side, with 1.2 million votes. But Warnock received more than 1.6 million votes. Republicans are optimistic that Representative Doug Collins (R) came in third with more than 980,000 votes. They hope Collins Loeffler voters will elect this time.

Two Democratic victories, along with security in the White House, would provide a majority in the Senate through the break-up vote that the vice president Mike Pence could cast in his role as president of the Senate. Otherwise, Republicans retain control of the Senate. The current composition is 50 Republicans and 49 Democrats.
