Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, called for the surrender of Russian troops on Tuesday.

In a video address posted online, Zelensky said, "I give you a chance on behalf of the Ukrainian people.". Then we will treat you like an equal, as a human being. If you surrender, we will treat you as an equal."

'The Russians didn't expect such resistance,' he added, claiming that Ukrainian forces have destroyed at least 90 warplanes since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an invasion on Feb. 24.

“They believed in their propaganda, which has been lying about us for decades,” Zelensky said.

According to the president's website, the president made his remarks shortly after submitting a bill to parliament that seeks to extend martial law for another 30 days from March 24.

Ukraine must also recognize Crimea as Russian, recognize Luhansk and Donetsk as independent, and cease all military activities in the region, Peskov said.

“We really are finishing the demilitarization of Ukraine,” Peskov said. “We will finish it. But the main thing is that Ukraine ceases its military action. They should stop their military action and then no one will shoot.

As well as recognizing Crimea to be Russian territory and recognizing Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states, we also talked about that. It will all stop soon."

Zelensky said he was not prepared to issue ultimatums, but has a feasible solution, resolution for these three key issues. Rather than living in an information bubble without oxygen, Putin needs to start talking.
