False attack by Jen Psaki on Tom Cotton over aid to Ukraine

Jen Psaki, White House press secretary, on Friday launched an inaccurate broadside against Republican Senator Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) with the claim that Cotton draws attention to military assistance to Ukraine, but opposes it in reality.

Cotton's tweet did not mention President Joe Biden or his party, but Psaki's attack was in response to it. While it is true that Cotton opposed the $1.5 trillion omnibus bill, the $13 billion in aid for Ukraine represents less than 1% of the overall bill, Cotton noted.

National Review asked Cotton's press secretary about the exchange and the press secretary responded, "the Biden administration should spend less time defending itself and more time leading.".
