On Friday, the nation's capital continued to improve security by shutting down access to famous landmarks and setting up vehicle checkpoints on a security perimeter surrounding central Washington before the inauguration of president-elect Joe on 20th Jan 2021.

Presidential inaugurations are always perfectly safe events with operations run by the United States Secret Service. Law enforcement officers have warned of threats and armed groups in all 50 states.

The National Park Service said Friday it will immediately close the National Mall and Landmarks of America in Washington DC to visitors until at least January 21.

“We cannot allow a recurrence of the chaos and illegal activity that the United States and the world witnessed last week,” Matthew Miller, the head of the Secret Service’s Washington field office, told reporters.

US Present Government (Trump Administration) said they expect the number of National Guard forces to rise to 25,000 in Washington, DC, a number that could rise further.
