A U.S.-supplied precision rocket system was used by Ukrainian artillery to strike a strategic bridge important for Moscow's supplies in the south of Ukraine.
Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the Moscow-appointed Kherson region's administration, said the Ukrainian military struck the Antonivskyi Bridge across the Dnieper River late Tuesday.
The 1.4-kilometer (0.9-mile) bridge sustained serious damage in Ukrainian shelling last week, when it took multiple hits. It was closed for trucks but had remained open for passenger vehicles until the latest strike.
According to Stremousov, Ukrainian forces hit the bridge with HIMARS multiple rocket launchers supplied by the United States.
