Two Monkeypox patients die in Mexico and Cuba

Two people from Mexico and Cuba have died after testing positive for monkeypox, but neither country has attributed the deaths to the virus.

As a result of the recent outbreaks in Brazil and Ecuador, there have been a limited number of deaths linked to monkeypox.

Approximately 21,200 cases of monkeypox have been reported by the Pan-American Health Organization in the Americas, and more than 80 countries worldwide have reported the illness, which is widespread in Africa.

The health ministry of Mexico announced on Tuesday it was investigating the death of an HIV-positive patient who died after testing positive for monkeypox and septic shock.

A total of 386 confirmed and 862 probable cases of monkeypox have been reported in Mexico.
