Pentagon officials announced on Tuesday that the United States has approved a possible $95 million sale of military equipment, training materials, and other items to Taiwan to enhance its air defenses.
The Office of Taipei Economic Cultural Representative in Washington filed a request for Congress to be informed of the sale, according to the U.S Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
“Taiwan will continue to demonstrate its determination to defend itself, and continue to deepen cooperative partnerships with the United States and other like-minded countries,” Taiwanese spokesperson Xavier Chang said.
This is the third arms deal announced by Taiwan since President Joe Biden assumed office, underscoring the countries' "rock-solid" relationship.
