By the end of the week, Democrats hope to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.
The Senate Judiciary Committee will meet Monday morning to determine if Jackson's nomination will be voted on in the Senate. As the nomination proceeds through the 50-50 Senate, President Joe Biden's choice to replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer will be in the spotlight for a final vote.
The court's sixth woman and third Black justice in over 200 years could become history as Jackson becomes only the third African-American and sixth woman in the court's history following more than 30 hours of hearings and interrogations.
