Pelosi chooses the first black American to lead the security of the US House of Representatives

The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has nominated a military commander from Washington to serve as the top law enforcement officer in the House of Representatives, who will be the first African American to hold the position.


Commander Maj. Gen. William Walker of Colombia's National Guard region criticized the Pentagon for taking hours to approve a request from the US Capitol Police for the National Guard to help respond to the deadly January 6 attack on Congress by his supporters, Donald Trump.
