New York man has been charged with threatening to kill Donald Trump

In an interview with US Capitol Police in July 2020 and multiple phone calls to the Secret Service the following year, Thomas Welnicki of Rockaway Beach expressed interest in killing the then president, according to a complaint unsealed on Monday.
The complaint identified President Trump as "Individual-1" and was filed in Brooklyn federal court in January. A footnote stated that "Individual-1" served as president from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021.
As detailed in the complaint, Welnicki told the Secret Service that he would "do anything in my power to take out" Trump.
“Oh yeah, that’s a threat to come and arrest me,” he was quoted as saying. “I will do anything I can to take out [Trump] and his 12 monkeys … if I had the opportunity to do it in Manhattan, that would be awesome … tomorrow [Trump] will be in Georgia, maybe I will.”
Welnicki claimed the "12 monkeys" were members of Congress unnamed who he believed supported Trump. In addition, he said there is a $350,000 reward for killing Trump.
According to the complaint, the voicemail was recorded “on or about” 4 January 2021.
An arrest warrant was issued for Welnicki on Friday.
