Midterm election officials face a new security threat this year 2022

There is another security issue that election officials must contend with this year as they prepare for this year's midterms. Among other concerns, they must contend with death threats, disinformation, ransomware, and cyberattacks, among other concerns.

Local officials in some states are being investigated for their involvement in enabling security breaches at their own elections offices. Several have expressed doubts about the 2020 presidential election.
