Mass shooting puts pressure on Joe Biden to secure new gun laws

The second fatal mass shooting in the United States in a week puts new pressure on President Joe Biden to fulfill promises he made as a candidate.

A gunman killed 10 people, including a police officer, at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, on Monday, just six days after another gunman killed eight people at daily health resorts in the Atlanta area.

"It's very upsetting." Vice President Kamala Harris told reporters on Tuesday, "They are ten people who live their day and live their lives without disturbing anyone ... a police officer who does his duties with great courage and heroism."

Biden, who took office in January, faces an uphill battle to get Congress to pass the arms measures promised during his presidential campaign.
