GOP to launch wave of investigations if House flips

Following the November midterm elections, Republicans are expected to take over the U.S House of Representatives, at which point they will launch a slew of investigations against the Biden administration about issues ranging from border security to Hunter Biden.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), chair of the House Republican Conference, says everyday Americans' concerns-including a historic inflation rate-will be top priorities.

Foreign policy issues to be discussed include the Biden administration's decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, the influence of the Communist Party in the United States and abroad, and U.S. strategy toward Iran.

House Committee on Oversight and Reform is expected to oversee many inquiries, as it is the chamber's major investigative body. The panel has broad authority to examine all aspects of government.
