Georgia governor's opinion on the vote on the bill "is not based on facts" - White House

On Thursday, the White House criticized Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp's claim that Georgia's new Voting Rights Act does not limit voter access.

White House Press Secretary Jane Psaki said at her daily news conference that the legislation "limits access to voting and makes it difficult for people to vote in Georgia."

Georgia's Republican-backed law strengthened the identification requirements for absentee ballots, shortened early voting times for the second round, and made providing food and water to waiting for voters a misdemeanor.
