After the federal government struck down a rule requiring airplanes and other forms of transport to wear masks, ride-sharing service Uber is relaxing its COVID-19 masking regulations.
After major American airlines announced they would lift mask mandates and a Biden administration official said masks would not be enforced, Uber has decided to relax its masking rules.
CDC officials violated administrative law when they imposed the masking requirement on transports, according to U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle on Monday.
Uber said in a policy update on April 19 that, effective immediately, riders and drivers are no longer required to wear masks when using the service.
