Due to an increase in Omicron-related illness cases, Meta, previously Facebook, has delayed its return-to-work deadline to March 28, with an extra obligatory booster vaccine required for individuals who intend to return to work.
With a succession of contradictory announcements over the last two years, Meta has flipped-flopped on its office-return dates and criteria. CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated in December 2020 that workers do not require vaccinations and that the company planned to reopen offices in July, which was then altered to May, and that a slew of new rules was approved in June.
Meta has given staff until March 14 to choose if they want to return at the end of the month, prolong work-from-home, or become remote permanently.
